2016 Team of the Year

We had an awesome time fishing the 2016 South Dakota Elite Walleye Series. We were fortunate enough to put together a couple wins and a few other good tournaments which we received enough points for Team of the Year. The first best thing that We like about the circuit is the variety of places we fish. The circuit fishes 3 lakes and 3 river events which to me is the best test of your fishing abilities. It is easy to be one the better anglers on one specific body of water if that is all you fish but putting your talents to work on different bodies of water doing different tactics is the true test. We consider our home water Lake Francis Case since that is where we learned a lot about walleye fishing. There it is mostly a pulling crankbaits with leadcore, but being able to fish Big Stone, Bitter and Dry lake this year we were forced to fish running spinners on boards and casting shallow weed beds with paddle tails and crankbaits.

The second-best thing we like about the circuit is the other anglers. We have developed some pretty good friendships with the other teams. Not to mention some of the better fisherman in South Dakota. The other thing that makes this circuit fun to be part of is that it is run very well. Brock and Jenny do an awesome job. They have added this year for the circuit to be filmed by Wild Dakota. It will be fun to watch the tournaments on TV. Looking forward to another fun year in 2017.

About SD ELITE

Brock and Jenny Dufrain started the South Dakota Elite Walleye Series in February of 2015. Brock grew up fishing and being involved in outdoors activities. He wanted to start a family friendly series that wouldn't require anglers to burn a bunch of vacation time or blow the budget. The SD Elite Walleye Series consists of 6 regular season, one day events and a two day championship.

Brock is no rookie at managing a fishing tournament. He helped with the very popular Cedar Shore Tournament for 10 years and was instrumental in its growth. It now fills its 130 spots quickly and has a long waiting list.

Ask any of the anglers who fish this circuit and they will attest that Brock and Jenny are exceptional people who run a fair tournament. Register for one of our upcoming events and find out for yourself!
